About me
Dr. Jennifer Duck is a two-time Emmy award winning producer and Assistant Professor of Journalism at Belmont University. She is the education co-chair and serves on the Board of Governors for the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Midsouth chapter. Prior to her work with Belmont, Jen was a producer with Anderson Cooper, Katie Couric, and the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN). Jen was also the White House reporter/producer for ABC News and a reporter/anchor for the NBC News affiliate in Bakersfield, California. Jen’s research focuses on the rhetorics/politics of identity and the role of media bridging divides through storytelling, technology, information design, and data. Jen’s passion for teaching spans across many states and countries. Jen taught music journalism and podcasting to high school students at an intensive summer camp hosted by the GRAMMYs®. She also works with Queen’s University Belfast students each summer teaching the art of storytelling. With a lifelong passion for media, Jen continues to write, edit, and produce podcasts and documentaries.
