About me
Jeff Green is an award-winning executive, writer, researcher and analyst, co-forming the Stone Door Media Lab in September 2012. The company publishes the charitable, digital music business textbook, The Metrics of Music: A Field Guide to Music Research. It also provides data analysis, strategic consulting, editorial and related services for broadcast and music industry clients. Jeff’s background includes 22 years in executive posts at the Country Music Association, Country Aircheck, the Americana Music Association, Radio & Records in Nashville and Los Angeles, and Film House in Nashville. Jeff also worked in the Netherlands as associate publisher/editor-in-chief for Billboard Publications’ European weekly trade pub Music & Media, based in Amsterdam, where he also served as adjunct faculty teaching media at Webster University’s Leiden campus.
Jeff holds a BA in Radio/Television from San Francisco State University and an MBA from University of Massachusetts Amherst. A recipient of the CMA Jo Walker Meador International Achievement Award, he is a former board member of the Canadian Country Music Association, a Certified Radio Marketing Consultant, and an alum of Leadership Music in Nashville and the Disney Leadership Institute in Orlando. Jeff has been a speaker/panelist at dozens of industry conferences and universities including Belmont, MTSU, Vanderbilt, Southern Illinois University, San Diego State University, Cal State Northridge, SXSW, The Recording Academy, NAB Montreux, the Country Radio Seminar, and many more. He wrote and published five editions of The Green Book of Songs: The Thematic Guide to Popular Music, which ranked for a year as the no. 1 music reference title on Amazon.
